About the book

Any book, large or small, is written from a particular perspective. The one adopted here is the Holy Spirit in general, and the Pentecost narrative (Acts 2) in particular. In doing so, I tread uncharted waters, traversing the rich history of Chinese Christianity—from Aluoben’s reception in Tang China in 635 onward—while foregrounding the “shy member” of the Trinity. For this reason, it is the first of its kind.
